The stage is set for an epic showdown in New Jersey.  Don Bosco Prep, the Garden State’s top ranked and 4th in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings, travels to Paramus Catholic, second in the state and 30th in the nation, in what will certainly be a game worth keeping an eye on.

At 3-0, Bosco has outscored its opponents by 72 points this season, including big wins over St. Joseph’s Prep and St. Thomas Aquinas.  Junior Malik Bakker has been the drive behind the Ironmen thus far.  The running back has rushed for six touchdowns thus far this season, averaging 119 yards per game.

Paramus Catholic has recorded a 5-0 record, racking up a +163 point difference over its opponents.  Senior Willy Hansen has completed 35-of-53 passes gaining 601 yards and six touchdowns.  Junior Ahmad Thomas has hammered his way to 180 yards and seven scores on the ground.

Last year, the teams split two close games.  In the regular season, Don Bosco claimed the game 20-13 after a highly defensive game, ending with a scoreless fourth quarter.

Then the teams met again in the NJSIAA Non-Public Group 4 semifinals.  This time, Paramus won in the last few minutes of the game when the Paladins scored a touchdown to take a 21-20 lead.

Sparks are sure to fly in this meeting as the two teams prepare to meet.  The game is on Saturday at 4:00pm at Paramus Catholic High School.
